I noticed in 1850, the Millers have a Joseph Hill  born England with them. May be nothing to do with Finedon but there was a 2 yr old Elizabeth Hill next to Mary and Charles living with a Randall family.
Then there is an Isaac Hill born Missouri with them in 1870  :-\

I can not see any link to Finedon for the Hill family at the moment Heywood.

You all are incredible. Overnight all kinds of questions answered and brick walls disappeared!! Thank you!!
I think I figure out the 1850 census age issue for the Millers - looking at the original I think the 5's were wrongly transcribed as 3's - lopping twenty years off Stephen and Mary's ages!!
Everything else makes sense though!
If you ever here about a Finedon or Northamptonshire inhabitants being recruited for a new colony in Venezuela in the 1840s, let me know (glad they didn't make it there, or I wouldn't be here!).
Thank you sooooo much!!
