yep I agree with JM and CandO, would be good if I could their death certs, even getting Dorothy's death cert to clarify marriage info and then going down that track to find out Henry's birth info.  Also the additional information in regards to their work as borers gives my partner additonal information in regards to his heritage and family.  Thanks everyone for your assistance, you've helped me get the ball rolling!

Why are you searching for bdm indexes on the Vic Registry website.  If you do get a result you have to pay to view the page.

Many of us have the indexes on CD and the info is the same.  Why pay?

I have given you the direct link to purchase an image of certs.

I only checked to see if a record existed.  Don't have to pay for that.  Only have to pay to view the results

Well found Muss  :)

Hi,

Qld BDM death INDEX has
1954/C79 ….. 19 Feb 1954
Leslie Roland BLACKWELL, with father’s name as William James and mother’s as Ida Lavinia WARREN.

Queensland BDM certificates are detailed, including cause of death, where buried, and the family information includes children of the deceased.   If your partner’s grandfather was a son of the deceased, I would expect to find Henry Roland Blackwell listed on that dc, along with details of his siblings.

Vanessa mentions in one of previous threads that her TAYLOR ancestors were from Winton. Were these families known to each other?

Leslie Roland was on a later electoral roll with occupation gardener, living at Bundaberg.

Electoral rolls are on Ancestry.com.au and many chatters have mentioned that Ancestry is available at many public libraries.
