burk house huddersfieldish

Looking for clues to the origins of James Hinchliffe born c 1796 d 1843 Huddersfield.

On the baptisms for a couple of his children it says Burk house and one adds Shepley.  I have found a Birk house lane with a farm and wonder if this was the same place  ???

I also found a gravestone with William Hinchliff of "burk house" so was hoping there could be a link.  This William was born 1753 and died 1833 buried Cumberworth where other children of James were baptised.

William had a wife Ann plus a daugher Ann (per the gravestone) but I have no evidence to link them to James.

Any local knowledge of "burk/birk house" gratefully received.

Thank you  :)

I would say that it is Birkhouse, Shepley. Birkhouse Lane is now what remains of the named area.
Cumberworth is not too far away.
