Fisherton Anger
« on: Tuesday 02 October 12 09:28 BST (UK) »
In researching my family tree I have come across a Frank Vincent born about 1854 and married to Lydia born about 1857.  They are living in Fisherton Anger with their 5 children. It appears Frank is a plasterer and his neighbours are also involved in the building trades, which appears a little strange to me.  I cannot however read his address.  It could possibly be 1 Harrel Terrace on Windsor Farm but it really isnt clear.  I would ask for help researching this address.

Hello,

I think the houses have been demolished to make way for some newer buildings, but you can see Hurst Terrace on the 1880 -1881 map from Old Maps - it is between Egerton Place and Bakers Court, off the main road, Great Western Terrace -

http://www.old-maps.co.uk/maps.html

The site doesn't let you put in a direct link, so use the co-ordinates 413712 130298 on the 1880/1881 map - you can enlarge it a little once it has downloaded.

Hurst Terrace was between 24 & 28 Windsor Road, as 'Yorkslass' says they appear to have been demolished  and were approx in the approx position on this street view http://goo.gl/maps/66S1r
You can click the link  http://www.old-maps.co.uk/maps.html?coords=413699,130268 to see the old map

Thanks a lot for the quick responses.  Any idea why so many who worked in the building trade lived round here?
