Irish in York
« on: Saturday 28 May 05 21:46 BST (UK) »
Pierce Ryan married Sarah Richardson in York in  1799. He would have been born , probably in Ireland about 1772. The couple had at least 11 children baptised in the RC faith, few of whom survived. Those that did were Helen born 1812 and Peirce born 1805. Helen was my ancestor, Peirce was living in Westminster in 1871. Can anyone suggest where Pierce originated from in Ireland. Does anyone know anything about the Irish in York in the late 18th early 19th centuries?

Hi Tich

Sorry we haven't been able to help you so far on this one.

Have you made any progress,  or do you have any further details that could help someone to find what you are looking for?

Have you posted anything on the Irish Boards?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes
