Victorian place name

On birth registration place abbreviated Korr - does anyone know which places this refers. Probably in the Bacchus Marsh/Melton areas.

Thanks

Just seems wrong - child was born 1868 Melton died 31 weeks. I suppose the family could have been on the move.

My Victorian Place Name Abbreviations Chart has KBURRA listed as KORUMBURRA
oddly enough there is NO abbreviation for the requested KORR.
KERANG is listed as KERA.
Not a lot of help!

I have been studying this Abbreviation Chart and have found an abbreviation for MORR, I googled that to find it is only roughly 50ks form Bacchus Marsh. Could this be a transcription error?

Hi

I'm not sure that it would be Morrisons as there are 4 births with Korr as birthplace on Ancestry. It is possible that it is Korweinguboora which is on the Ballan to Daylsford road and often misspelt. Ancestry births have several corruptions of the name including Korreinguboora and several others beginning with Korr. The only way to know for certain would be from the certificate

Thanks

Interestingly I located the place of birth as Keilor Plains in a newspaper article. Perhaps Korweinguboora is possible. Another to check out.
