On the 1891 census Walter states he was born Nottingham and in 1901 he says Nottinghamshire. I can't find him on the 1871 census. I wouldn't rely on a birth in Carrington to much

1861 census RG9 2440 folio 10 21 market Place Basford  Nottinghamshire
John Moore 1815  Nottingham, Nottinghamshire,  Head  Married Lace maker
Ann Moore 1814  Nottingham, Nottinghamshire,  Wife Married Lace maker
Walter Moore 1842  Basford, Nottinghamshire,  Son  Lace maker
Samuel Moore 1844  Basford, Nottinghamshire, Son Lace maker
William Moore 1849  Basford, Nottinghamshire,  Son
Thomas Moore 1851  Basford, Nottinghamshire, Son

Regards
Valda
