I am trying to find out about Robert Mouat, who was born in the Shetland Isles (SHI), Scotland,  but who emigrated to Canada, and, as you can see from this excellent Shetland Genealogy source (Bayanne), died in Toronto, in 1894. Robert Mouat ended up with a bad reputation in Shetland, he leased a lot of land and, according to his tenants, treated them very unfairly, He ultimately went bankrupt, about 1870, and as I said, ended up in North America. I am trying to find out more about him, including why exactly he went bankrupt. I wondered if any of his descendants or relatives can tell me any more about him. I'm not very hopeful, but who knows!

 :)
