Everard Quinn - Clitheroe, Lancashire
« on: Saturday 20 October 12 19:47 BST (UK) »

Hello,

I am trying to find the whereabouts of Everard Quinn. He was born in 1901 Whitehaven, Cumberland. He married Catherine Gill in 1926 Whitehaven.
I found another marriage record that states he got married in 1951 to Mary Wallbank in Clitheroe, Lancashire. Everard's whereabouts since then has eluded me, I was wondering if these names ring a bell to other users in this forum.

Thank you for your time.

The 1951 marriage shows him as Everard G Quinn and between 1947 - 1960 the Electoral register for Philbeach Gardens Kensington London has an entry for Everard G Quinn and Katherine

The 1960 entry shows her as Catherine

As Catherine was nee Gill - could the 1951 marriage be their son

Hi Carole,

I am very happy that you replied. Yes, what you said makes a whole bunch of
sense. Absolutely, Everard Gill Quinn would be the son of Everard & Katherine.
I have come across the Electorial  register for the Kensington London areas before. I believe they start at around 1950 or so. I ignored it because I couldn't see why Everard & Katherine would want to travel all the way
from a small town of Whitehaven, Cumberland to London? It never fit the family pattern before, but then again anything is possible and this makes sense. I haven't come across to many Everard Quinn's, In fact I count two. :)
The 1960 entry for Catherine, must indicate that Everard must have passed away the year before I am speculating Carole? I will see if I can locate Everard's year of death. Catherine's for that matter too.
You have really made my day Carole. Thank you so much.

Everard GILL QUINN b post 1926 married Mary  both as late as 2008 at Douglas the Isle of Man

Hello Elzabels,

As Carole pointing out earlier, I think Everard Gill Quinn must have been the son of Everard.
I have the marriage reference for Everard Quinn & Catherine Gill for 1926. I suppose they left Whitehaven some time and head to Kensington & Chelsea.
Everard Gill Quinn married Mary Wallbank in 1951 Clitheroe. It is interesting that you found reference to an Everard Quinn in the Isle of Man? Hmm.
Everard did have a great aunt with a huge family living in the Isle of Man.
This mystery keeps on getting better. lol

Thank you again Elzabels
