« on: Monday 22 October 12 13:30 BST (UK) »
Hi, im looking for information on John Morgan, born around 1735.
He married a lady called Catherine and had a son James in Colva, Radnorshire in 1760 (Who went on to marry a lady called Elizabeth and had a son William at Crregrina in 1812).

Any help on Johns parents names`, or any of their occupations, etc , would be gratefully appreciated.
Thank you.

Thanks for that, l am a direct decendant of:

 John/Catherine,
James/Elizabeth,
William/Jane,
Charles George/Adelaide,
George Arthur/Sarah and
George Herbert/Irene (who are my Grandparents).

It looks like the Morgan family l decend from were poor, and therefore hard to trace!

I visited Powys archive last week, but needed to find out so much, ran out of time.  Its also around 300 miles each way,

As to the Maiden names of the ladies my ancestors married, l have no idea at the moment, (im a novice as you may have gathered), and so far only got to William with regards to occupations (Ag Lab around Vowchurch).
I was wondering how they got to be living in the middle of knowhere around Welsh hamlets, and where they hailed from before?  ???

Any more information you may have is very gratefully appreciated.

Thank you very much for your time.

Lee

Hi Lee,
I cannot locate your Morgans in Colva but there is a will for a John Morgan who died in 1724 in Colva. Wrong dates but there may be some info in the will that helps to add to your search.
The will is in the wills on line section of the National library of Wales website.
Happy hunting
Angie
