John Hill. I believe he was born in the Worthen area in about 1831.

Hi Jan,

Had some time to spare at Shropshire archives so had a quick look in Worthen baptism records for a John Hill.

Unfortunately, no baptism of a John Hill between 1828 and 1833. Perhaps an adjacent parish.

The only Hill baptism was for Elinor, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Hill on 8th March 1832, father's occupation Miner, abode Heaths. Just in case this is one of 'yours'.

Regards,
Maurice

Hi Maurice,
Thank you for taking the time to have a look for me. Sorry to be a while in replying, but my lap top was at the menders.
I don't think that Ellinor is one of mine, although I do have an Ellen born in about 1834, but down as born in Worthen district! This may not be correct though. Thomas was a Miner.
I have Thomas and Elizabeth Hill's children as:-
Ann 1829, John 1831, Ellen 1834, Thomas 1836, Elizabeth, 1838, Mary 1842, Harry 1840, Edward 1841, Harriet 1842, Maria 1846 and  Joshua 1849. All born in the Worthen District. I am not sure if all of them are correct , as it does seem like a lot of children, but I have not been able to find much to go on.  Thanks again for your help. Best wishes  Jan.
