I've just come across a small birthday book of Forsyth birthdays and I have a puzzle. Most of birthdays are for the family of Robert and Jessie Forsyth but one entry is for my mother Wesley Forsyth 2/8/1908. I don't know if its a birth or death and I've never come across Wesley Forsyth until now. Has anyone any ideas?

There is a birth of a male Wesley Forsyth, in 1908, in Maryhill, Glasgow, could this be the reference you are looking for. This can be downloaded from Scotland Peoples website, £7 for 30 credits, and 6 credits will get the search and download of this birth certificate.

I am unsure what the part with your mother Wesley Forsyth means, and you have never come across Wesley Forsyth before. Maybe a wee typo here?

What I took to be a single entry on the 2/8/1849, my mother Wesley Forsyth , is actually two entries. I realised the birthday book must have belonged to Robert Forsyth when I remembered his mother was born on that date but I still don't know who Wesley Forsyth is.

Thanks for exchanging PM with me, I now think I am getting this. The "my mother Wesley Forsyth 2/8/1908" is what is written on the book, and at one time, you were not sure who originally owned the book, so were unaware who Wesley Forsyth was.

Robert Forsyth married Jessie Smith 1905 at Prestonpans, and then emigrated 1912 to Melbourne, could Wesley be Robert and Jessie's child, you can prove this by downloading birth certificate from SP.

 I wish it was that easy. Robert and Jessie migrated to Sydney, one daughter Helen was born in Scotland and two more, Margaret and Jean were born in Australia. I also know all his brothers and sister, his father and grandfather and their family's but I can't find a Wesley Forsyth.

In that case, I would download the Birth Certificate from SP, it is going to solve your problem.
