MI's 18th/19thC Douglas of Strathendry
« on: Tuesday 30 October 12 12:45 GMT (UK) »
Hi

Perhaps someone in the Leslie area can help me.

I am looking for MI inscriptions to confirm dates for Douglases of Strathendry ie
To clarify I am looking for dates of the wife of Col Robert Douglas Cicilia (nee Craigie) and their daughter Barbara.

Both Cecilia and Barbara had TB.  A photo of any MI would be great! I believe Barbara might have been sent to Europe for her health, but I do not know when or where she died.  Thanks.

Their youngest son David was cousin to Adam Smith and his heir upon his death. He married his first cousin Elizabeth Craigie.

Been away & just seen this.

The Fife death index CD has 34 Douglasas in Leslie. you don't give any dates at all but these seem related:

Douglas  chld of Col Douglas  6/5/1793
                                           22/1/1795
                                           18/6/1796
                                           aug 1807

unknown if this is col Robert or col william...

Lady Douglas  strathendry 13/6/1799   ( Lady Strathendry)
Col. Douglas,  leslie 18/12/1803

Col William Ann Douglas  nov 1796,  3rd Reg foot guards

there are several children of Col William

if you would like the full list please PM me your email address.

Hi sorry to come to this a bit late. I'm descended from Barbara's brother David. I think Barbara died in about 1771 and Cicilia was buried on 19 May 1774. May I ask how you know they had TB, why you think Barbara was sent away, and why you are interested in them?
