Millitary records
« on: Wednesday 31 October 12 19:25 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I recently found some military records for one of my ancestors,
could someone help me decipher the information on them?
It seems to say something about him being punished for something,
but I couldn't work out if it was for one incident or if it was on two or three separate occasions.

Thanks

It looks like in the first one he assualted a police officer and in the second he hit his superior officer. Neither of which went over very well!

Twice for striking superior officer, as well as the constable.  Also a slightly unmentionable offence.

 :o

I missed that one so I reread them...it seems he was promoted to Lance Corporal and then striped of the promotion too. Quite the colourful chap methinks.  :)

You may be able to find where 1st Battalion, South Wales Borderers were stationed in those years.  Could be India.
