I have a photo of my mum, who was born in 1925, in exactly the same hat with the same haircut. It could well be 1928 IMO.

I think he looks a bit older than 25, but he may have lived a hard life and look older than his years.  ;)

I would like to ask thurgood, if William emigrated to Australia, when he did so. This may help with dating the photo. Also, is the chap in the photo definitely identified as William Wood?
