please help with dating and comparison

Hi everyone

I hope asking for help twice in a matter of days is okay.

I have this photo but have no idea when it was taken. I am trying to ascertain whether the guy in both photos is the same person.

Don't you love their "material matching" outfits. I wonder if that was in vogue then?  ;D

Lovely! About 1865 to 1868, before the huge crinoline went out of style.

They would have had their outfits made from the same bolt of cloth. Unusual look for the man, though.

I wonder whose idea it was ;D ;D ;D
