Hi

On Familysearch there is a baptism for
Sarah Skarrat 7th November 1883 Manchester
Parents George Skarratt and Janette.
Have you found a birth for this child?

Hi KR

I have not found George and his family on the 1891 census but I have found a possible 7 children for them

All baptised Manchester

Thomas bpt 1881
William bpt 1882
Sarah bpt 1883

Elizabeth bpt 1893
Janet bpt 1895
George bpt 1896
Mary bpt 1898

Source Familysearch.org

What strikes me, is that there are no children between 1883-1893, this makes me think they may not have been in England in 1891, was Janet's father from Scotland, could they have gone there, or did the emigrate and returned to England

Yes, it's interesting about the gap in the children's births 1883-1893.
The family are in Manchester in 1911 and the census states that they had 7 children, 4 had died.

Many thanks for your replies much appreciated.

KR  :)

Hi

I think, if there no more children, they may have been parted in some way

He did appear to join the Militia in 1882 but can t find any proof that he may have joined the regular Army and been away in 1891.
