Clark
« on: Sunday 04 November 12 20:14 GMT (UK) »
On the 1911 Census, James Clark gives his place of birth as (looks like) Airs King, Co. Down.  Has anyone heard of this place?  He married Rose Rooney.  I am presuming that they married before 1869 as their son Hugh was born about 1869.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards, Vera

Ardquin.

Ros Davies has a reference to Rose Rooney's marriage to James Clark, parish of Ballyphilip, registered Portaferry (also mention of children Hugh and John):

Both Hugh and John's births are on familysearch, the location is also Portaferry.

Hi Vera,  I have just started researching my family tree and if iam correct then the james clark you are referring to would be my great-great grandfather,  I would love to know if you have traced the Clark line back further,  I did find a snippet online that suggests James Clark father is a Robert Clarke born in 1802, please pm me if you can thanks
Dylan

Dylan- new members usually need 3 posts to send and receive PMs but you can make 2 more posts here and then get in touch with Vera (she was online here last month so fingers crossed you'll soon be able to compare family notes).
