Caroline Lloyd Jones', maiden name
« on: Monday 12 November 12 02:24 GMT (UK) »
E. Lloyd Jones, the Vicar of Llangerniew in the mid-1800s, was married  to Caroline from Meliden.  Her maiden name and their marriage date have eluded me.

What does the initial E stand for?

If they had any children, their birth certificates should give you her maiden name.

Do you know the year of birth of their eldest child? Just to give an indication of when they may have married.

Freebmd has a number of marriages with a Caroline and an Edward Jones on the same page (unsure if they pair together though) - have you investigated these?
Also, do you have baptism records for their children?
I am wondering if they were non-conformists (and baptisms may tell you what church they belonged to). I have no knowledge of where to look for such records however I'm sure someone else will be able to assist you with this.

Caroline and Lloyd Jones are showing in 1841 in the Rhuddlan Parish of Flintshire with apparently a four year old daughter Elizabeth and a two year old son Wynne and a daughter Anne given as seven months old.In 1851 in Llangerniew only Wynne and Anne are with the couple. It is very likely though that the couple will have married before 1837.

Thank you all for your help and suggestions. Their daughter Anne was christened in 1833 and died the same month at Meliden.

If it's any help, Edward Lloyd Jones was ordained a deacon and priest and licensed as Llanweyddeldelen curate in 1825, licensed as Perpetual curate of Meliden in 1826, and as Vicar of Llangerniew in 1826 also.
