Apologies,I misquoted the record-the marriage was at St Asaph.

But you gave me the source which opens all sorts of possibilities for my family research which is much appreciated.

This is off-topic, but could you explain the assumption of the Lloyd with the Jones as a surname as Caroline used it in her widowhood?  Is it her  means to differentiate?  Is it patronymic?  In the St. Asaph records I have searched, I haven't seen it.

It is very interesting that her surname should be Dawson.I have many Dawson relatives in my Tree who originated in Newmarket Flintshire.

The 'Lloyd' might be Edward Lloyd Jones's mother's surname or even further back.

Thanks everyone for helping. I believe my relative might be a namesake of Louisa Dawson who has some connection to  the Lloyd Jones who have some, probably ephemeral, connection to my Salusbury tree.  Back to research.

The 1851 census has Caroline born 1800 Meliden.Family Search has a Carolina Dawson born 20/2/1798 Meliden.
Further,The National Library Wales has a will and a bond (both 1781) for Thomas and Mary Dawson Nant,Meliden, with great family detail. There must be a reasonable probability that one of the sons(or grandsons)is the father of Carolina.

Roger, that is great about the will and bonds!  Is there on line access?    I'll check the Family Search catalogue for film and check out Carolina 20/3/1798.
