Sydney was born in Australia 1891,lived in Durban ,wife's name Dianna and I believe that he had a son named Basil.Would anyone have any further info?

Have sent you a PM with some info about Basil. Are you sure of the name Sydney and his wife? Any idea when they were married and where it took place?

Yes I did,thank you.
I do have records of his parents and siblings but Sydney was always a mystery until I found a record of he and Dianna incoming to Australia in 1938 coming from Durban.

Thought that would be the case otherwise there would be an estate notice for him in South Africa.

Sydney Albert Halliday born 05/05/1891 married Diane Janet Thomas in South Africa on 17/11/1913
He died 07/05/1976 in South Africa
They did have a son ( 7th child ) named Basil born in South Africa  19/09/1924 died 14/04/1993
Basil married Liliana M G  ( nee Di Luzio) born 26/03/1922  died 03/07/1969
