So my James Illman is baptism - 6/2/1825 in Nutfield to parents John and Sarah - doesn't say occupation on bc but does say 'labourer' on mc. Died 28/9/1909 + Buried 4/10/1909 in Nutfield

married Caroline Lawrence 6/11/1847 in St Peter and St Paul Nutfield

That’s definite, but I’m struggling to prove which John and Sarah are his parents.

It could be these two that trish put -

Marriage 17 March 1805
Burstow, Surrey, England John ILLMAN to Sarah BROWN

SARAH Brown bapt 20 May 1787 St Nicholas, Charlwood
Parents BENJAMIN/JANE

That would make James the 11th child - the dates do fit.
On the 1851 Census James is married and living in Nutfield with family, so this could fit with Sarah widow living with Thomas and Susannah in Burstow…but it isn’t definite.

I would say it is very likely that is the right John/Sarah as Parents of James.

1841 Daug Rebecca is with them
1851 Sarah is with Son Thomas and Daug in Law Susannah wife of Benjamin.
