Marriage Look up please - Thomas Richmond
« on: Monday 03 December 12 18:54 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I wonder if anyone could help me.  I'm looking for a marriage between Thomas Richmond & a woman called Lydia.  I suspect this took place circa 1815 in Cockley Cley, as they had a daughter Mary born there in 1816.  A second daughter Martha was born in Colton in 1818.  I'm afraid I have no more information than than, so any help gratefully appreciated.

The reason I ask, according to Family Search - Lydia's maiden name was Paine.

Christening 21st March 1830
John Richmond
Father: Thomas Richmond
Mother : Lydia Paine
Honingham, Norfolk

Until someone finds their marriage.

Two people have Thomas Richmond as being married in Honingham, Norfolk to Lydia Paine in 1814. on Ancestry.  Neither has an exact date for the marriage.   Anna

I've had a look at the Bishop's Transcripts for Honingham, and there's no marriage in 1814 for Thomas Richmond.

The one Yokel found looks to be right - https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-14265-18385-96?cc=1823613&wc=9020235

I also had a look for Richmond/Richman baptisms in Cockley Cley around that time, but couldn't find anything.

Hi

This is brilliant!  I'd picked the Cockley Cley baptism up from IGI - but I've now found a second record on  there with the same dates, but listing it as taking place in Colton.

Yet another reminder to self to check one's sources. ;)

Many thanks to everyone for your help.
