Fowkes in Portugal

Hi

l am looking for any help or possible advice on how to link a distant Relative to possible link to Portugal,

l Have 1841, 1851, 1861 ,and 1871 Census For a William Fowkes Born about 1808,

On Census William Fowkes is Recorded as British Subject Portugal his wife and Children are born Northamptonshire England, l can not find a birth for William in Portugal for 1808 and have come to a complete Dead end on tracing his Parentage and possible siblings although a kind Gentleman gave me a lead and found 5 Baptisms in Lisbon Portugal but are l think slightly too early to even be his Possible parent:

Any help with Connecting my William fowkes 1808 to this Family or on How to would be Very much Appreciated
