Thank you Capetown :)

I should have said that Elizabeth is very consistent about her age in four census records.  On that basis her birth year was 1795 or 1796.  John was 10-11 years older.

Unfortunately this would rule out the records you've found, but I do appreciate your interest :)

Thank you once again Capetown, but I already have the census records for John and Elizabeth in Headington.

Please note that I am asking specifically for a look-up in person at the Berkshire Record Office in Reading, as the marriage records for Marcham are evidently unavailable anywhere else.

Hi Carol,

I was at the Berkshire records office yesterday so had a quick look at the marriages for Marcham between 1805-1811 for you, sorry to say but there was no record for a John Cooper marriage at all.

Kind regards
Chris

Hi Chris :)

Thanks for taking the trouble to check the records for me, I really appreciate it.  Can't think of anywhere else to look at the moment so I'll try to live with not knowing :'( ;D
