Handwriting for deciphering ... eedon ...

Can anyone help with deciphering the place where one of my ancestors enlisted in the Army.   Having done that, where is it?!

I reckon it ends in ...eedon. I tried all the letters of the alphabet at the start and looked up the more sensible variations in a gazeteeer of places in Cheshire (http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/Gazetteer), but found no matches.

Help would be appreciated.
