Once again, thanks to you guys I have not only found out a fair bit about my 2 x Great grandfather, but even more about his Father. I have traced the George Senior's discharge papers complete with a brief description of the Gentleman. 5 foot 11 and a half inches would be quite tall for a common soldier in those days. He served 10 years with the Coldstream Guards including 2 years at Waterloo. I assume that was the time as part of the post battle garrison when George Junior was born in 1818.

I tried being normal once, it was the worst 5 minutes of my life!
