Hello Mate and thank you very much for the help, now managed to fill in some blanks, I really do appreciate your help, it has been puzzling me for quite a while, Do you think it possible to get a death year for John bn 1797 and his occupation ? or even his dads death year bn 1772 & wed in 1792.
Thanks again,
John James

Hello Radcliff, sorry about this, I must be having a grey moment !!Trying to understand all findings..
John James wed Isabella Gill,  1816 &  then the death notice , she was 67 at death , struggling to understand  birth year. Given ladies (if 1st marriage) age 18 or 20 on average would have meant she was bn 1808 and only 8yrs old, unless you know different.

Thanks again Mate
John

One of the "townships" of the parish of Hebburn ( also known as Hebron), situated near Morpeth,
 was called Earsdon.

Another community also called Earsdon lay 15 miles south.
This Earsdon was a village, a parish and a "township" and lay within
the bounds of Tynemouth Registation District

Archivists ( at least some of them ) use the term "Earsdon by North Shields"
to distinguish between the two Earsdons.

There is Robert Bertram James in 1851 census. Age 31, Glassmaker, b. North Shields. Married to Betsey Barker and living with in laws in Lancs. In 1841, he is living with same family in Lancs, Robert James, Glass Maker, age 20, Not born in County. By 1861, Betsey is a widow.

Their 1841 marriage on Familysearch has Roberts father as John. Do you have copy of the marriage cert, which will be good help in identifying Roberts baptism, as it should give his fathers occupation? The only mention of Roberts middle name as Bertram seems to be the 1851 census.

There are two John James having children baptized at Tynemouth (Parish Church for North Shields) at about the right time. John and Ann and John and Eleanor, but no son Robert there.

There is :

31st March 1820. Jane James, daughter of John (Glassmaker) and Ann, of Low Lights.

There is a baptism of a Robert James at Heworth St. Mary.

9th May 1818. Robert James, son of John (Glassman) and Anne, of Bill Quay.

Only a few miles across the river and upstream from North Shields.

Its a big leap back to the John and Ann marrying in Earsdon in 1792 though.

Merry Xmas.

Alan.
