Hallmark ,

I have searched census records. Unfortunately the ones that are relevant for Patrick Obrien born 1856, namely 1861 and 1871 are not available .I think they were destroyed in Dublin . Patrick was in Britain by 1874.

Wading through records OF BMD`s ,so far haven`t found anything yet . I still have a few counties to check

Thanks for help

Re civil records . I have put in every combination and coming up zero. All counties ,all spelling , getting crosseyed !

Haven`t finished yet.  Wondered if it would be worthwhile trying to put something in  a Limerick paper to see if any family are still living there .I know it is a long shot , but sometimes I have had successes . Probably need about 20 posts !

Appreciate  all trying to help .

They died before 1875,listed as deceased on their son`s (Patrick 1856)marriage cert 1875. So presume they died in Limerick .

You don't know where in Co. Limerick they were so you need the 10 districts for the County

https://www.swilson.info/regdistmap.php  and choose Limerick from 1st dropdown box to get them.

Then Search Civil Reg for   Helen Maloney  death BUT you'll need to enter one of the Districts and search, then try another District.

You can just put name in with no District... enter 1875 in second Year box as cut off Year

then knowing the Districts select a District from the list on left! You know approx when born so Year of Death minus Age at Death

You'll see the like of

Death of ELLEN O BRIEN in 1866
Group Registration ID   N/R
SR District/Reg Area   Limerick
Deceased Age at Death   30
Returns Year   1866

Death of ELLEN OBRIEN in 1865
Group Registration ID   N/R
SR District/Reg Area   Limerick
Deceased Age at Death   30
Returns Year   1865

but useless until they go online..... or you pay €4.00 for every "possible"!!  :o

I have just found those records this minute, looking at the two possibles you mentioned right now !!. Once I got the hang of it lots of lovely records .  Trying now to see if any births  match up with a few possible Patricks ,and names from his marriage to Bridget .Luckily the Irish are the same as Scottish records ,naming children after family members . This is a great site ,thanks for that

Brilliant
