Its interesting that you have come up with the Frwdy Corn connection as that is where I had stopped, it is next to Tal y Bont garage on today's B5106 road in Caerhun, an open orchard.
You have been very busy!

I am now looking at my original 1898 marriage cert for David ("Taid") Jones wedding to Grace Jones,
David age 20, Grace 21, he is a general labourer and both give their address as Severn Cottage, Grove Rd, Colwyn Bay, parish of Llanrhos; his father Thomas Jones, tailor, her father Thomas Jones, fisherman of Conway ('the old fisherman' with a beard that appeared on postcards).
Neither parent is shown deceased so probably Thomas Jones, tailor, was still alive 3/9/1898.

I went to Whitley Bay and got some sea air - it works wonders  ;D

Why Mary was b. Ffestiniog, I don't know - maybe, as you said, he was an itinerant tailor and Elizabeth went with him  :-\  The 1891 and 1901 is definitely him though - sister Mary Ann being the clue.

brevitas

PS - it might be worth following Mary Ann on the 1911

Well thank you very much for this, I am realising I may have read some of these before but never went with them because it was Llandrillo however as you say the link can come from others with better names for research particularily when its a JONES family.

I will wirte these down and ponder over this as its a lot to take in at moment.
I cant rationalise the Tething or Penfro part yet maybe deciphering Welsh spelling?
Thanks Gareth

Putting on my best Welsh  ;)

Just been looking at the map - could Tething be Tyddyn (bach) - just to the west of Caerhun?

Now if you had said RHWNG-Y-DDWY-AFON I would have believed you from the start as I come from Llandudno/Conway originally!

The 1851 page has Frwdy Corn on a previous page.
Does it say Tithing of Penfro that would make sense? (tithe / tythe maps).
