just posted those as a couple where the parents were Martin & Mary around the right time - not suggesting they are correct at this stage.

Shows that even the combination of the parents names is not unique. I was hoping that something might show up for the twins, as that would give you Mary's maiden name. If they were listed they should stand out, but no sign of them that I see..

Problem is 'Dublin' is a little vague - could mean the city, suburbs or somewhere in the county, so involves quite a few parishes

I know what you mean, but the census just states Dublin for the boys. I have in the past been given Athy, but with no real evidence I could not take it as gospel.
Someone also mentioned place called Eye but again I just don`t know.

Thanks
John

Ireland's Eye is the only place I can think of  but no one has ever lived there as far as I know.

where did you locate this record ?

There doesn't seem to be any sign of it in either the RC or CofI parish of Athy on the index on RootsIreland.

Hello, I have always followed the census and assumed the twins to be John Oconnor & William Oconnor, I have just seen the 1911 census where John is actually John Joseph Oconnor, nowhere else in the census does it state a middle name, very strange, more than that it states birth place to be Athy, this is the same entry for William. I have double checked the spouses and years wed.  They do match. Even on Johns marriage cert to Louisa Mapleston, it does not state a middle name,
very very strange.

Dont worry about middle names - often not recorded in baptism or civil records.

Hello Shane, Just had an email forwarded to me from someone in Wales, in it , it states that No.48 Prioryville was only built back end of 1929/1930. Occupants in 1931/32 were a Edward James Thomas & a Margaret Thomas, it does not state wether she is Mother, Sister or other, I hope this new info helps in any way.

Thanks again Shane

Hi does any one know how I can get some info on the above, she wed Martin Oconnor 1843 in Booterstown, Dublin, I think they were both Roman Catholics, they both had three lads, twins John & William 1843 & then James 1847, not sure when after this the family left Ireland and set up home in Market Rasen, I am very interested if any one can give me any info either of the parents of Martin & Mary.

Thanks again..
John
