Adding to passenger lists - I believe he's also on the Olympic in 1913, where it specifies he became a US citizen Nassau Court, Mineola, May 1913.

You should look for a Herman or Jessie at the address in London; he may have changed his name, or he might have been born under a different name he never used - e.g. born to Jessie before she married Herman, but raised as the son of Herman and Jessie.

Great idea to check the address in London, the Oppenheimers of 34 Christchurch Ave, Brondesbury?  I can't remember their names and can't check myself at this moment!  Were any of them born in Australia?  Is there a Herman or a Jessie there?

Mr OPPENHEIMER was Hermann  ;D

Here they are in 1881, with Henry aged 3.

Wondering if the Herman Oppenheimer we are interested in, of 34 Christchurch Road, actually died in March 1925, aged 82 (I think the one mentioned above who died in 1826 aged 69 was another 'Hermann Oppenheimer')

This may be a total red herring but there is mention here  of Estella Oppenheim of Kilburn , London , looking for relative , Henry B , in 1903 , not heard from for some time and supposedly in Ballarat :

Could Henry have run away and re-appeared as Harry Chandler ?
