41/51/61 Colchester to Walthamstow

I am hoping somebody could help me with the following.

I am looking for either a Philip Sainty or a Henry Philip Sainty (same person).  He has always shown as Philip, until yesterday, when I found marriage entry for him in Hackney (1865) which stated him as Henry Philip Sainty.

Born 1818-1822 in Colchester.  Is a bricklayer by 1871, where he has married a Walthamstow girl and is living in Hackney.

Would be grateful for any help, as he is my current brick wall. I've searched the 1837.com site and no joy.

I couldn't find an exact match for 1861.

The nearest was Philip SAINTY b 1827 Colchester and living in Colchester with wife Ellen and several children.  Occupation ship's carpenter.  Ref RG9/1100 9 147 15.

Having said that, he would have been quite old for a first marriage in 1865?? 

No Henry SAINTY that matches either.

I think Philip/Henry was married before.  But he only shows from 1871 with Esther.  So I can't pin a previous wife on him.

I've seen the gentleman who was ship's carpenter, but I can follow him through subsequent census, so he can't be mine.

Perhaps I will have better luck with earlier census.

Philip 51 Brightlingsea
Elizabeth 45 Wivenhoe
Mary 18 Colchester
Henry 15 Wivenhoe
Joseph 13 Wivenhoe
Walter 10 Ipswich Suffolk

Thanks for that.  I've just followed them through, and although not the one's I'm looking for, must have some connection.  Useful for elimination purposes.
