Francis O'Rourke dies Alberta
« on: Tuesday 01 January 13 16:52 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

Although not a member of Ancestry I found the following info on a Family Tree.

Francis O'Rourke, birth 1843 Northern Ireland, spouse Mary Parks (married in Lanarkshire,Scotland),parents Michael O'Rourke and Bridgit Malone,  died Alberta ?

These details are those of my wife's ancestor who was still living in Glasgow in 1891.

Are there any searchable records for Alberta that might shed any light on this persons movements/death?

Thank you

Andrew

I don't believe there are searchable records online for Alberta.

Here is a link to the Alberta Archives - http://culture.alberta.ca/paa/archives/research/genealogy.aspx If you know where in Alberta they lived, you might be able to contact their local library for newspaper announcements or obituaries.

There is a family tree that says:-

Francis O'Rourke - Birth 1843 in Kelstown, Down Co. Ireland and died 7 Sept 1921 in Albert Street Glasgow. (Fell and fractured base of skull)

Thank you both for your prompt replies.

I think the death in Albert Street,Glasgow is the correct one since his birth was in Kelstown. That makes more sense.

Obviously a misprint somewhere in Ancestry. That solves another mystery.
