Thank you Amanda for your interest, I have looked at your tree, it is interesting to see future generations of the family that you have never heard of.I notice that some of your ancestors you have labelled Dna connection my son may be a connection as my husband was a Butler descended from James 1816 or thereabouts.
I may be wrong but I don't think Margaret and Elizabeth baptized in Derby at non conformist chapels belong to john & Mary from Denby/Belper my reason for this is that their John was a weaver from Ockbrook and John from Denby was a miner. Weaving and mining are to my mind skilled trades and I don't think this change of occupations was likely. Plus there seemed to be another bunch of Butlers in Ockbrook.
My tree is lntms if you would like to look.
Best Wishes for your explorations
Liz

Hi Liz,

Your John Butler b. Abt 1818, when and who did he marry?

Do you have him on any census?

Butler is very common name, but the above info may help.

Thank you Spendlove. My first enquiry was some time ago and research has solved some problems. John1778-1845 probably was the son of John and Ellen. He Married Mary ? and Had children William James and possibly Ellen I have found  baptisms for William and Ellen but not James I am pretty sure James and William were siblings since they both attended Strutts school with father John miner living at Opengate.Having read this reply I am having second thoughts about John living with Ellen Hole in 1941 was William and James father.Back to more research. Liz
