John & Sarah McClintock
« on: Sunday 06 January 13 04:19 GMT (UK) »
Looking for information on John & Sarah McCLINTOCK (nee MATTHEWS) of Co. Cavan. They got married in 1851 at Dungannon, Tyrone. This could indicate that Sarah came from Tyrone.
I know very little else. They had at least three daughters: Martha (moved to the US) & Mary and Emma. They also had only one son; John Matthews (who moved to Australia).
I think I found John snr. in the 1901 census. According to that he was born in Londonderry. He was living alone and a widower so presumably Sarah died before then.
Can anyone find any information on them or their children?

Extracted marriage shows Drumglass, Co. Tyrone:

The 2nd paragraph has a bit about local churches:

Children of John McCormick & Sarah Matthews:
1. Martha born 3 Dec.1864 Cavan https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FR9J-7YN
2. Mary born 3 Dec.1864 Cavan https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FR9J-75P
3. Emma Margaret born 27 Apr.1867 Cavan https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FPYZ-BMN
Remember that registration of births started in 1864 so any children born 1851-1863 will only be found in baptism records)

Possibly Martha's marriage in Nebraska: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/X5ZF-JKG

The 1851 marriage certificate will list exact places where bride and groom were living as well as fathers' names and occupations- these details will make it easier to find information on the family.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
