Black Watch John McPherson Stuart
« on: Wednesday 09 January 13 10:29 GMT (UK) »
Need serious help here. Looking for details on John McPherson Stuart. My GGrandfather. All  I know at this stage was that he was born in Banffshire. Joined the black watch was a Sargent in the Military Police of the Black Watch
He had died by 1917 . Family history says he died in Egypt from TB.
However he also served in Ireland Eire I believe. He was there in 1893, his wife  I have no name for her travelled with him. She gave birth to my grandfather there in I believe 1893. HIs name was GOrdon Adolphua McKenzie Stuart.

There is a death for a John Stuart, Lance Corporal, Black Watch (Royal Highlanders) in 1916

GRO War Deaths - Other Ranks Index

No.  S/3266 Vol I/1 page 217

It doesn't say where he died though.  Have you checked the 1901 Irish census to see if they're there then?  http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/

Not sure how accurate this is  :-\

The birth matches the one on the birth cert, ev, but doesn't match the other info that kangaroo mentions.   It only seems to leave the 1839 birth or one we don't know about  :-\
