Hi and welcome

Quote
Samuel Spruce 1849-1900

Are you sure about his birthyear?  The Samuel Spruce whose death was registered in Tamworth was 76

There is a match to a 51yr old Samuel Spruce in 1900 but that death was in Birmingham Warwickshire

Deaths March qtr 1900
Samuel Spruce 76 Tamworth 6b 350

Deaths June qtr 1900
Samuel Spruce 51 Birmingham 6d   1

No problem.

Can you be more specific about the type of info you are looking for so we don't wast time duplicating?

I suspect you already have census info as you know his occupation - is that correct?

Do you have his death certificate?  Burial place may depend on where he lived.  And an accurate date would also help, although not quite so important.

We've got a number of possibilities - Wiggington Cemetery, Glascote Cemetery, Wilnecote Cemetery, plus the churches, and of course the outlying areas but still covered by Tamworth Registration District.  Cemeteries Department may be able to help, but they do charge.

If you can supply any further details, then I'll go into Tamworth Library and have a look for you.

Hi BumbleB  and CaroleW,Sorry about delay on offering more info on the Burial place of Samuel Spruce .I have had trouble with my PC.                                                                                           I have since found a report in the TAMWORTH HERALD  of his burial in "the local church" on 17th Feburary 1900
his address was Beech House .Albert rd.Tamworth.I believe he was a local Councillor, a lot of local dignitaries were present.
It would be interesting to know if he has a headstone in the Local church.
Thank you all for you your offers of help, much appriciated.
Joyce :)

I would think the local church would have been St Editha's.

Oh dear (or words to that effect)  :-[  :-[ I completely forgot to look whilst I was in Tamworth library this afternoon.   :'( :'(  And they also have a list of MIs.

Depending on whether we get any more snow, I'll go down again tomorrow and double-check.

Again my apologies - old-age creeping up rapidly now  ;D
