JAMES HARNES (HARMES?) AND LOUISA DRAKE MARRIAGE

The scribble is totally illegible and I've just looked through some previous pages on the banns to see if there is something similar written but no luck so far

Also had a quick search on ancestry to see if there are any other James HARNES in the area and all I can see for 1881 is James Harnes on the electoral rolls for Isleworth, Hackney and St Pancras. No census came up.

I know that my Harmes were abt the only ones in Hammersmith at that time and St Peters was the local church.  I think that is where James married Mary Ann in 1879.

Yep, that will be James' signature on John's and Louisa's marriage register.
They were the only two harmes children with the initial J.

If it had just been marriage banns for James HARNES then I wouldn't have thought twice but because it is for a Louisa DRAKE as well that made me question it

I have zoomed in as far as I can on James' name if you compare the way James' christian name has been written look at the 'm'  'e' & 's together, the 'e' could be missing from the surname and therefore it reads as HARMS

The witnesses on James and Mary Ann's marriage are of his brother John and his wife Louisa Harmes nee Drake.  Ha ha confusing isn't it

Hmmmmm, I think you are right with the name being HARMS 
I am going to search on ancestry to see what comes up for James HARMS.
