What was Emma Williams maiden name? - PRICE - Completed

George and Emma Williams [nee Price]  :) and 4 children, Anne Maria, Elizabeth, Sarah Jane, and George jnr, arrived Sydney on 6 December 1878 with 468 other migrants on the Hereford.  Anne Maria was born in Penarth Glamorgan Wales on 24 December 1865, but I have not found details for the other children nor marriage details for George and Emma.  Emma died on 19 December 1907 at Chatswood NSW and was buried at Rookwood old Methodist cemetery.  I am reluctant to purchase a limited transcription at this time and am asking RCs if they can help with a look up of Emma's maiden name.

  In case you don't have it here is Emma's death notice which gives her age - in her 65th year in 1907

Hi Neil, Neil....If we keep kneeling like this we will get sore knees ;D

The whole family are together at  Salop Street Penarth Cardiff, County Glamorganshire in the 1871 census and all the children are listed as being born Glamorgan. However Emma is listed as born Pembrokeshire!

I will see if I can dig up their marriage.

George married Emma Price in the July/Sept Quarter of 1862 in Pembrokeshire Wales.

Emma Price was born 1842 at StMary Pembrokeshire to Stephen Price and his wife Margaret.

Stephen was born 1813 in Narberth Pembrokeshire and was a farm laborer. His wife Margaret was born Monkton Pembrokeshire in 1816.

Emma was the eldest of 3 with Joseph 1844 and William 1850 all born St Mary.

In 1841 Stephen price was living at Sandern Detached Building,Parish Pwllcrochan, District Pembroke and it shows his age as 25 born 1816, but the 1841 Census are notorious for wrong ages? He was just living with a Robert Davies aged 15. Probably doing it tough as no occupation is shown.

Stephen Price married Margaret George in Apr-May-Jun Quarter, Modified IN 1844 Registration District Rhayader, County  Radnorshire. ;D

Dont ask me where that is my knowlege of Wales ends at, its west of England. Oh yeh and its a bit mountainous and has coal ::)

The immigration record for the family names Emma's father as Stephen PRICE at Pembroke.  George's parents are "both dead".
