How interesting. It looks like the Lynch family moved from House 5 to house 4 sometime between 1901 and 1911. Eigene and sister Bridget are not listed with the family on the 1911 census. Is it possible that the Lynch family were split between the two addresses? Or that in 1911 Eigene (age 17) and Bridget (age 13) were living away from the family unit. From the info provided by the OP we know that Bridget lived long enough to become a mother so it is highly unlikely that she died prior to 1911.

Not house numbers, form numbers.

Houses in rural areas don’t have numbers.

Note how the order of how each family was enumerated changes from one census to the next.

Thanks. I was wondering why those numbers changed from one census to the other.

But not sure what is meant by "form numbers".

And why is Col. 1
. labeled "No. of house or building"?

Form number is the number of the census form. See the first link above.

The forms are all standard, the same form is used in urban (where they are likely to have house numbers) and rural (where they are very unlikely to have house numbers) so rural houses are given the number of the form to make doing the census easier.

I lived on a Main Street of a small town and no house ever had a number until eircodes were introduced a few years ago.
