I need to find a good 6" to a mile map of the area to help me through all the streets .

One or more of the maps on this site might help you - it is growing all the time:

thank you prueM.  I've lost all the resource sites that I built up in my bookmarks in a computer virus episode some time back.
It takes ages to build it all back up again. :(

Bunhill Row can be found very easily on a modern map -always a good starting point and can act as a reference point for major changes since the 19th century.

Have a look here:

http://www.maps-of-london.com/map-finsbury-5.jpg

Just to the right of the middle of the map, to the right of the large green H, running north to south between Old Street & Chiswell Street.  This is a 1940 map.

This one:

is 1830 and much larger!

Earley bird, I have three pieces of advice for you.

Number one. There is a technical support phone number for S and N at the bottom of their web page.
https://genealogysupplies.com

Number 2. When you reply to a message there is an option immediately below the text box, "attachments and other options'' , and by clicking on it you will be able to attach photographs and other images.

Number 3. I've worked in computing all my life and I have given this lecture to so many people, but following your comments about losing data through a computer virus problem, I hope you have learnt from it and are making regular backup copies of your data, onto a separate hard disk or removable disk and ideally keeping a copy at another physical location.

Martin

this was started in 2013, the problem has most probably been solved by now.

majm's mis-post has resurrected it.

Ha!  " I've worked in computing all my life...".  I must start bothering with dates!  At least my advice is still relevant.
