Thanks Amondg, I will add this to my information . I was hoping to find marriage registers that showed the same information as C of E records-parents, occupations, witnesses etc but struggled to find any information at all, unfortunately there are no plans to digitise the non conformist registers :(
I will have to make the trip to Essex again at some point.

Re James Coe (married Sophia) using his tombstone dates as a guide he was baptized at Great Waltham 13 January 1828 to William Coe, wheelwright and Hannah his wife.
There is also a baptism for Samuel Coe 10 May 1830 same church and parents.

Added
I went back to look for more at St Mary and St Lawrence Church Great Waltham.
parents William and Hannah Coe
Emma bap 14 July 1811 - 23 January 1837 age 25
Marian bap 25 July 1813
Elizabeth bap 5 November 1815
Charles bap 13 July 1817
Ann bap 19 December 1819
Abigail bap 21 March 1822
Sarah bap 4 April 1824-1 May 1848 age 24
William bap 9 April 1826
James bap 13 January 1828
Samuel bap 10 May 1830.

Burials Hannah Coe age 49 on 7 March 1839 this appears to be the wife of William based on age and that he is a widow in 1841.
