If trumpet was told he married a Cowling and had these same children's names then I think Stanley became Richard and if he is the same person then he was only 14 yrs when this son Richard was born 1911
Birth:
Richard M Cowling  MMN Cowling Dec Q 1911 Goole then re-reg Marshall 1936

Found this marriage:
Richard Marshall to Kate E Cowling @ Goole Mar Q 1912 - if this is Stanley he would be 15 yrs !!!

Hi Wendy,

On the 1911 there is a Richard Marshall born 1877 York who is living in Goole. I think this Richard is more likely the one who married Kate.

This Richard is the son of Richard and Sarah Ann.

Is there a baptism for Margaret Marshall MMN Cowling born Sep 1951 Barkston Ash, this is in the area of Selby / West Yorks Reg dist.
Then there is another for an Audrey Marshall  MMN Cowling born June 1955 Barkston Ash.
Their parents could be Reginal Marshall & Miriam Cowling Mar 1949 Barkston Ash.

trumpet said it was a Margaret that visited rellies, I am wondering if someone has got the story a little mixed up and missed a generation out

Visit to the library has been undertaken:

Entry in Monumental Inscriptions
Plot H  No 747
In loving memory of a dear mother Jessie MARSHALL died 10th Jan 1955 aged 58 years
And a dear father Stanley MARSHALL died 22nd Nov 1978 aged 81 years.

I believe this is Jessie Abson whom a Stanley Marshall married @ Goole 1941

I have searched the fische's and there is no marriage in the church at Goole, I think this could well be a Civil Registry Marriage and those are not on fische, one has to apply for a copy of the marriage cert, which I think would be preferable to determine if either had been married before, thus knowning if Jessie's surname is her maiden name or a previous married name.

I have a copy of the plan of the sited grave and the graveyard along with a copy of the printed words for the MI.
I have been to visit the grave and there are 2 bunches of fresh flowers, so someone is visiting and maintaining this grave. I have also taken some photographs, but on my mobile, my husband forgot to bring my camera when he came to collect me at the library, will see if I can manage to fathom out how to upload to the comp    I will then see what the quality is like.
