stanley marshall lived in Goole about 1918

After much searching I now think I have answers to Stanley and Jessie, because the children may well still be living I cannot make any comments about them, although these are in the public domain by way of births and re-registrations.

I believe Jessie was Jessie Hirst, c1897 Goole
marrying 1st to John William Sykes 1915   he died 31 May 1916 in HMS Invincible, Battle of Jutland
then marrying 2nd George H Abson 1919   no certain death found
then marrying Stanley Marshall 1941
Re-registrations 1949

I will go back to the library to check out any baptism's to these marriages now that I have dates.

I am in contact with a distant rellie of the HIRST family, he has told me he has a contact for
the family of MARSHALL, but he is having difficult contacting this person, awaiting to see how things develop.

My contact has now made contact with his Hirst/Marshall contact. This contact wants to speak with the remaining living children of Jessie & Stanley before saying anything else. It is very important that the feelings and privacy of these children are upmost, albeit they are now adults and elderly, but the facts are very personal to them and may not be known within their families.

trumpet, please do not go ahead with putting a notice in the Goole Times, lets wait and see how things go this way first.

Many thanks for all the work you have put in,it is much appreaciated the photo was a added bonus it is brilliant. It would be interesting to know some history about Stanley Marshall after he left North Shields I am not to bothered about any dates and would not put any information on the internet but it is only for personel use Stanly being my uncle any my late dads brother.

I have now made contact with 1 of the remaining 4 surviving children of Jessie & Stanley Marshall, she has just celebrated her 90th birthday and remembers many things relating to the Sykes/Abson/Marshall families.

I have PM trumpet, awaiting further details from trumpet before I can pass on any contact details.

It is a pleasure to have helped reconnect these two families back together and I do believe they will have many happy times talking about each others families
