Lotte..if you're having problems finding him...so will others...so..why not change the title of your post to include his full name and anyone googling that name will be brought here.
There is a slim chance they could have got the death date wrong...but..I don't know what else to suggest ???

What made you guess his year of birth as 1896 ?

He was in 2nd Battalion of the Northumberland Fusiliers.
This could indicate that he was an established regular soldier,
before WW1 recruiting campaigns swelled the NF to upwards
of 27 battalions.

2 Btn was in South Africa up to 1902.
 In India before 1914.

Felix was a popular christain name for Irishmen !

Give details of the Roll of Honour  for  the County Borough of Tynemouth and there is an entry that says:

Chatter, Felix Leonard, Northumberland Fusiliers, killed in action in France March 1915. - 4 West Street, Milburn Place

I can't account for Felix but I do see the "evolution" of one branch of Wallsend CHATTERs. It looks as though a George CHATTA/CHATTO took up with the housekeeper Elizabeth LENNON and produced a few children who seem to have taken on the surname CHATTER in later life (although registered as LENNON and variants).

Sorry-long winded and got us nowhere near Felix! :)

Maybe Felix Leonard Chatter started life as Francis Lennon, this evolved into Francis Leonard Chatter, then to Frank as per 1911, (a common derivative of Francis) and finally he decided on Felix to be different!
