So she was born sometime before her parents married.  But if the birth years are correct he would have been fathering at 13?

Is she with her father in 1841/1851 and is father married or widowed in 1851?

The Ann who married John Thickett is given as born in Donnington Shropshire in 1811 in the 1851 Census-HO107/2027/24/24.

Of course taking the ages you gave,John Thickett(1811) would only have been 13 when Elizabeth(1824) was born?

Good Morning
Marriage details John Thickett and Ann Hinton 19.8.1840 St Peters Wolverhampton.
John Thickett  single grinder son of Joshua Thickett grinder
Ann Hinton single d of Thomas Hinton miller
Which seems to fit with the 1841 census in Wednesbury.
Marriages for other children of Thomas Hinton miller
Mary 18.3.1850 Market st  to Joseph Dutton st George's
There's a baptism of an Elizabeth Hinton to Ann Hinton St peter's 20.8.1834 on the index but no age given. Also a Henry 4.3.1838
No baptsims for Thomas Hinton's children at Wolverhampton and there seems to be  no other Thicketts.
Will have another look for Joshua and Thomas elsewhere

Hi

If you have the correct baptist record for your Elizabeth, see post 3 by Rambler, it match's yours, apart from the name, Eliza, the area Wednesfield, and the parents are John and Elizabeth.

I have looked at the census for James and she is down as Elizabeth, the only other thing I can suggest is, if her Father John Hinton died and her mother re-married a John Thickett and she knew him as her father.

Unless Eliza/Elizabeth was a widow when she married James Owen and her name was Elizabeth Thickett
