I had a quick look on SAGHS but haven't looked on my CD-roms, so thanks for that Dee.  The children of William and Elizabeth ended up in NSW and WA, so worth considering that, but the name is so common it is difficult to determine just who it is - there are certainly plenty of William Langley!!! Will check some of the other indexes and see what turns up...

I see Sarah Jane and Thomas Giles LANGLEY both married in the South East of South Australia. There's the death of a William LANGLEY at Bordertown in 1906, but the age is about 9 years out, and no other identifying details are given, Paula.   :-\

Thanks for that - I can see I will have to get the CD-roms out... I have to use
them on another computer because my laptop is a 64 bit system, and I put off doing it... it will be worth it though!!! by the sound of it.

To help out, here's the two marriages in the South East......

And the questionable death.....
William LANGLEY aged 52 of Bordertown died 12th January 1906 in Bordertown.

Thanks Dee.
Have been looking at the BDM records - added the sources to records I had... there is William Langley, m. Marion nee Kennings, living at Bordertown and the Tatiara district... .  They had children Robert Hedley b. 1884, Roy Carlton b. 1887 and William Abon (probably Avon) b. 1888, Reuben Kennings b. 1885, Frederick Lewen b. 1881, Frank Aubury b. 1882.  Marion died 1889.  A marriage notice found on Trove gives this William as son of Warwick; that accounts for the William buried at Bordertown I think!
Will keep trying to sort this family out...

I thought the age was rather too much "out", Paula.

Good luck with your search for William.
