Florence Annie Wyton / Blacow(Completed)

Hi

Florence A Wyton born 1899 Heysham, Lancashire married Robert Blacow bn 1901 Ellel, Lancashire in Heysham in 1924.  I have them both with their son (born 1924) sailing to Canada 19th July 1929 from Liverpool.

I have no information on this family after they left England so would be grateful for anything.

Their destination was to her uncle John Wynton of Toronto, Ontario.  There is an address but badly smudged.

Voters lists show that the couple remained in Toronto.  Robert might have died before 1950 as Florence starts to appear by herself and is employed as a maid in 1957.  Their son also remained in the Toronto area.  Canada 411 shows only a few Blacows in Ontario.

Only thing I found so far on Robert and Florence from the passenger list was they were going to  Toronto looks like a Uncle or brother to Florence Mr John Wyton.

Found Gerald on the Voters  Lists along with wife Audrey  living 33 Belize Dr. Toronto last I see him at this address is 1972. On that list is someone named Nancy Blacow a clerk living with them.

I also looked on the Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid but did not see Robert or Florence.

Thank you both very much.   

The information is much appreciated and you have also solved the problem of John Wyton.  I can now see him and his family on passenger lists in 1916, 1919 and 1929. He was Florence's uncle.

I was told that Florence & Robert went out there ' under a cloud ' so am pleased that they had family out there.

It looks like they were in Ontario in 1940, then may have come west across the country.

By 1995, it looks like they may have been on Salt Spring Island with telephone listings as recent as 1999. I sent you a PM with the telephone directory info. (They wouldn't be alive now, but I wanted to be careful as their unnamed son may be.)
