Hi guys,

hope some old timers can maybe help out, my great grandparents John and Lizzie Anderson moved to the area early 1903 from Limerick with four kids. John (Big Jack) ,Ethel,James (Jimmy) and Elizabeth (Lizzie) living in Dale Street.

In 1924 when my grandfathers brother James was 24 he married Mary Ann O'Connor, in January of 1926 their first and only child was born James Jnr, they lived in Nelson St.

A few months later at 11.30pm on the 8th May 1926 just a few months after the birth of his son James was murdered outside 128 Crookston St with a single stab wound to the neck and dying as a result of blood loss and shock a few moments later.

Now I am sure no one will remember this but would anyone know where to look to see if this was reported maybe in a newspaper or if anyone was ever convicted.

Cheers,

Scott

Scott, from what I can see elsewhere, on 11 May...

Four arrested and appeared at the Divisional Court (three of them brothers). The four, together with James Anderson, had been chatting when the subject of discussion became heated...and the stabbing ensued.

Will send more details.

Monica

If you want to obtain the trial papers you can contact the National Archives of Scotland.

The following is a link to the Call Ref.

I ordered papers from them before cost me about £15 if memory serves me correctly.
